COPE Staff
Directors
Jeff Anderson:
Jeff was the original Director for the Mountaineer Area Council COPE Course. He designed and
started the construction of the course in 1992. He currently operates the COPE program for the Mountaineer Area
Council, BSA. Jeff is the Assistant COPE Director at the New England Campus - National Camping School.

Van F. Anderson, EdD:
Van joined the COPE Staff in the spring of 1995. He works with a wide variety
of groups, from Scouts to large businesses. Van is currently the Director of
Professional Services for the National Recreation and Park Association. Each
June Van is the Director of the New England based National Camping School.

Phil Efaw:
Phil started working with the Mountaineer Area Council COPE Program in the fall of 1996.
He currently works with College aged groups, particularly from Fairmont State College. Phil is
currently working on a degree from Fairmont State College.

Jay Jamison Jr.:
Jay first worked with the Mountaineer Area Council COPE Program as a Construction Crew member.
Jay has a long history of ropework with the EMS Rescue Squad from Monongalia County. He is employed as
as an Electrical Technician in his family owned business of Jamison Electric.

Brian Schuller:
Brian has worked with the COPE Program for a number of years. In 1996 he joined the
COPE Staff full time as a COPE Summer Camp Staff member. Brian runs the COPE Program for a
number of College and Professional groups. He is pursuing a degree in
Pharmacy from West Virginia University.

Andy Wilkins:
Andy has held many positions within Mountaineer Area Council for years. He joined the COPE
Staff in the spring of 1996 and is responsible for a number of Scout groups which utilize the course.
Andy is the owner of Wilkins Rentals in Morgantown, WV.

Instructors
Dave Laishley:
Dave was the first Instructor for the Mountaineer Area Council COPE Program. He works with a wide variety
of COPE groups, from Scouts to large organizations. Dave is pursuing a Communications degree at West Virginia
University.

Kevin Schuller:
Kevin joined the COPE Staff in the spring of 1996. His work on the COPE Course ranges from Scout groups to large
organizations. Kevin goes to Morgantown High School and enjoys a number of school related activities, one of his
favorites is Drama.
