One
of Mountaineer Area Council's COPE Directors, Brian Schuller, works on
an EAD (Easy ascension Device). The EAD was designed to allow for multiple
clip points for various ascension devices (cargo net, rope ladder, giant's
ladder, rope climb, rappel lines, etc.). The top two safety lines are crossed
to allow two participants to use the same element without using the same
safety cable. By crossing the cables the safety ropes do not rub against
a lower cable as they would with two parallel cables.
